Caity + Bennett | Julian, CA Wedding

Caity and Bennett found our work last year due to the wonderful and mysterious ways of the Internet. They contacted us for an engagement session only, which isn't totally rare, and we met and photographed them in the fall of 2017. Honestly, within minutes of meeting, I was pretty much obsessed with these two. They are hilarious, highly intelligent, adventurous, and just have very KIND souls. The four of us spent the session talking and laughing a lot - and of course making some cool images together. As the session came to a close, we found out they were planning to get married in California and were likely going to hire a photographer local to the area. In the car on the way home, I remember saying to Forbis, "Oh my god I love them and I kind of want to die because we aren't shooting their wedding."

I'm not a pushy or "salesy" type of person at all, but on a whim I decided to send Caity and Bennett our travel pricing, in the hopes that maaaayyyybe they'd consider having us shoot the wedding. And let me say that while the thought of shooting in California is always enticing, it was the connection that we felt with these two that led us to really want to document their day. When we got the email stating that they did, in fact, want us to shoot the wedding I basically jumped up and down with joy, ha!

Guys...this was honestly just one of the most beautiful weddings we've been a part of and we feel so lucky to have been trusted to document it. Caity and Bennett share a really special kind of love, it's sort of hard to explain. But they are honestly an absolute pleasure to have in front of the camera. They are also ADORED by their friends and families...I mean they had 8 toasts at their reception, and each one was incredibly heartfelt. We already knew that these two are amazing people, but hearing all of the wonderful things said about them just solidified it for us. And also...their reception dinner was pizza, and if that doesn't say something about the kind of people they are, then I don't know what does ;)

We were lucky enough to be able to travel with and work alongside our favorite videographers (and besties) Mike + Emily of Juniper Films. We can't wait to see what kind of magic they captured on video!

We start off this blog post with the "Tacos and Margs" welcome party, and then dive right into the wedding day. Enjoy! <3
