Dave + Mairin | Married
Dave and Mairin were married in a private ceremony in Pittsburg last fall, and they chose to celebrate with their friends and family here in their hometown of St. Louis this January. Willow is a brand new venue downtown, and served as the perfect location for the party. Michelle and the team at Absolutely In! Events did an amazing job of bringing Mairin and Dave's vision to life. The space was filled with cozy seating, industrial lighting, and lush greenery. We were blown away when we saw everything! But what we loved most about this celebration is that is was so full of joy, love, and laughter :)
Dave and Mairin, you have been an absolute pleasure to work with! We are so glad we met you both, and wish you every happiness in the years to come!!
Check out all of the wonderful vendors for this event!

When you plan an outdoor wedding, literally the last thing you want is rain on your wedding day. The forecast on June 1st honestly did not look great, so I think everyone was really surprised when we were met with a sunny, beautiful day. Miraculously, it didn’t rain a single drop all day long - that is, until a pretty intense storm rolled through later that evening. We are super lucky it held off as long as it did though!
What can we say about this wedding other than that we loved literally every moment of it? The day was calm, relaxed, and sweet - a true reflection of Alli + Dan’s personalities - with a focus on faith, family, and friends.
We cannot stress enough how amazing it is to photograph weddings that are so personal and emotional. My first thought is to classify Shelby + Andrew’s wedding day as “simple” - but that’s really not the right word. “Uncomplicated” is probably better. What we loved so much about their wedding was that they planned a day around only the things that are important to them. The result is that they had a wedding that they could truly soak in and enjoy.
Joe + Kara’s wedding day was the embodiment of modern romance. We began the day with them at the Chase Park Plaza for a few getting ready photos. They then hopped in an Uber and met us at Tower Grove Park where we took a little time for some portraits of the two of them before their walk down the aisle at the nearby Wild Carrot. Their ceremony took place outdoors and despite the chill in the air that day, it felt so warm and intimate. Guests were then invited indoors for cocktails, dinner, and dancing.
This past fall we had the pleasure of photographing Nina + Brian’s sweet elopement. Their intimate ceremony was crafted by Terri of Moonstone Meaningful Marriage Ceremonies, and held in the lovely grotto at Lafayette Park. Nina + Brian said “I do” surrounded by their parents…and a few ducks in the pond - who didn’t hesitate to honk their approval ;)
Looking outside now at the multiple inches of snow on the ground, it’s hard to believe that less than 2 weeks ago it was 65 degrees and sunny here in St. Louis. It’s no secret that I love snow, cold weather, and winter weddings, but I must admit that the sun and warmer temps we had on Maria + Fade’s wedding day was pretty great ;)
Kathryn + Dushyant were married on a beautiful December day in Chicago. They planned an incredibly intentional, beautiful wedding. There was so much to love about this day, from the beautiful colors and textures, to the mixed-tradition ceremony held in the GORGEOUS chapel on the University of Chicago’s campus, the amazing choreographed first dance, the wonderful food, and so much more.
2018 was an amazing year. We were lucky enough to travel a bit for work as well as just for fun ;) We also had a ton of work here in St. Louis, a lot of which never made it to the blog! This wrap up is a mix of weddings, couples, families, and personal images.
Kate + Ken’s farm wedding was held just outside of Chicago on a cool, rainy September day. Plans had to be changed up a little bit because of the weather, but no one minded :) Everyone got ready in the house on the property, and Kate + Ken did a super sweet first look under umbrellas. The ceremony was originally supposed to be held outdoors, but was moved into the barn due to the rain. It was strung with lights and provided such a cozy atmosphere for their ceremony.
