Maria + Fade | Midtown St. Louis Wedding

Looking outside now at the multiple inches of snow on the ground, it’s hard to believe that less than 2 weeks ago it was 65 degrees and sunny here in St. Louis. It’s no secret that I love snow, cold weather, and winter weddings, but I must admit that the sun and warmer temps we had on Maria + Fade’s wedding day was pretty great ;)

Maria + Fade’s was our first wedding of 2019. Let me just say, I was obsessed with so many things about this day. Planning from out of town is never an easy task, but clearly Maria + Fade did an amazing job with the help of Samantha of Samantha Joy Events, who is not only a great planner, but also a close friend of the couple. It was a rare treat for us to shoot at Powell Symphony Hall - wedding receptions aren’t too common because the symphony is usually performing on weekend evenings, so we feel super lucky to have been able to photograph a reception there! The reception was held in the lobby, which is overlooked by 2 floors of balconies and was still decorated for the holidays which gave it such a warm feel. The menu that Maria + Fade chose was expertly prepared by The Social Affair, which is one of our absolute favorite caterers in St. Louis! The food was so so good. Other highlights for us included Maria’s PHENOMENALLY beautiful gown, Fade + the groomsmen’s mustard yellow ties by the one and only Lonesome Traveler, Flowers by Flowers + Weeds (always incredible), and late-night ice cream by Ices Plain + Fancy (the salted dulce de leche is possibly the BEST ice cream I’ve ever had in my entire life - no joke)…seriously there was so much to love about this day. Not to mention that Maria + Fade are such a kind, funny, intelligent, and sweet couple. Working with them and their lovely friends and families was a real treat indeed. I truly can’t think of a better way to have kicked off 2019!
