Joe + Kara | Married

Joe + Kara’s wedding day was the embodiment of modern romance. We began the day with them at the Chase Park Plaza for a few getting ready photos. They then hopped in an Uber and met us at Tower Grove Park where we took a little time for some portraits of the two of them before their walk down the aisle at the nearby Wild Carrot. Their ceremony took place outdoors and despite the chill in the air that day, it felt so warm and intimate. Guests were then invited indoors for cocktails, dinner, and dancing.

Emily + Mike | One Year Anniversary

Mike and Emily are lovers of all things creative and unconventional. Last April they eloped in Joshua Tree (see the images here) and on their first anniversary we took them out for a night shoot. One of the (many) things we love about Mike and Em is that they are always down for getting weird and being adventurous - which, in turn, allows us to experiment with stuff that we don’t get to do too often.

Libby + Ben | Springtime Forest Park Engagement Session

Spring is always a mixed bag here in the Midwest. You could be graced with beautiful 72 degree weather one day, and chilly overcast weather the next. Ben and Libby are planning their St. Louis wedding from their home base of NYC, and they scheduled their engagement session while they were in town checking off things on their wedding to-do list. The weather was pretty brisk but we just rolled with it - and the upside is that Forest Park was basically deserted so we had our run of the place ;)

Baby Quinn | In-Home Lifestyle Session

Sweet Baby Quinn was born early at just 25 weeks old. She spent 4 months in the NICU, so her parents got in touch to set up a “welcome home” session when she was released from the hospital. I can’t imagine what that NICU experience must have been like, but I’m what I’m sure of is that they are so happy to finally have their baby home.

Grace + Matt | Engaged

So excited to share this session with you all! I met Grace a couple years back when she was the planner for a wedding we photographed. I was immediately drawn to her friendly, warm, and outgoing nature. Last summer we had the chance to hang out + work together again when Grace organized a wedding vendor booth at Pride. We were absolutely thrilled when she and her fiancé Matt reached out to us to shoot their wedding. Grace is in the wedding industry herself, and Matt is an awesome street photographer, so the fact that they chose us really means a lot.

Ryan + Becky | A Proposal

When Ryan reached out to me about photographing his proposal to his girlfriend Becky, I was thrilled! Becky is originally from St. Louis, but they currently both reside in Nashville. Proposing to her in her hometown was really important to Ryan, and a must-have for his plan included a stellar view of the Arch.

Alli + Dan | Central West End Engagement Session

I don’t know about anyone else, but every single year I hear the date “March 1st” and I IMMEDIATELY think spring. Something in me completely forgets that technically it’s still winter until the very end of this month. The day of Alli + Dan’s engagement session, mother nature definitely did not let us forget that winter is still clinging on to the Midwest.

Slow season is taking its toll and my friend Emily of Juniper Films came into the loft so we could make some images together. I will say that couples and families are more of my wheelhouse, so posing single people is not something I do often…if ever. But the great thing about photographing Emily is that she really just does her thing and doesn’t need a ton of direction.

Lifestyle Family Session | Alton, IL

At-home sessions are my favorite kind of family sessions to shoot. There’s just something about kids in their natural habitat that make them so fun to photograph. The comfort level at home means that kids can be 100%, unapologetically THEMSELVES. I encourage families to have fun at home and to forget about the camera.

Jordyn + Jimmy | Expecting

In the summer of 2017 we photographed Jordyn + Jimmy’s beautiful, stylish wedding at The Luminary. Fast forward about a year and half later and we were so thrilled to find out that they are expecting!! This past fall they got in touch to do a little pregnancy announcement shoot, and since they live in our neighborhood they hopped on over to our house and I took them to my favorite little spot in our alley, ha!

Maria + Fade | Midtown St. Louis Wedding

Looking outside now at the multiple inches of snow on the ground, it’s hard to believe that less than 2 weeks ago it was 65 degrees and sunny here in St. Louis. It’s no secret that I love snow, cold weather, and winter weddings, but I must admit that the sun and warmer temps we had on Maria + Fade’s wedding day was pretty great ;)

Kathryn + Dushyant | Chicago, IL Wedding

Kathryn + Dushyant were married on a beautiful December day in Chicago. They planned an incredibly intentional, beautiful wedding. There was so much to love about this day, from the beautiful colors and textures, to the mixed-tradition ceremony held in the GORGEOUS chapel on the University of Chicago’s campus, the amazing choreographed first dance, the wonderful food, and so much more.

Deja + Mars | Engaged

Deja + Mars are high school sweethearts who met in St. Louis, but now reside in NYC. They came home to STL for the holidays and were able to squeeze in some time for an engagement session. With our son home from school, we’ve been a bit cooped up in the house, so it was awesome to get out for a bit and hang with these two.

Kate + Ken | Heritage Prairie Farm Wedding

Kate + Ken’s farm wedding was held just outside of Chicago on a cool, rainy September day. Plans had to be changed up a little bit because of the weather, but no one minded :) Everyone got ready in the house on the property, and Kate + Ken did a super sweet first look under umbrellas. The ceremony was originally supposed to be held outdoors, but was moved into the barn due to the rain. It was strung with lights and provided such a cozy atmosphere for their ceremony.

Jamie + Logan | Woodsy Belleville Engagement Session

Oh man. I love engagement sessions so much. We have 4 more coming up in the next couple of weeks, and they are seriously some of my favorite kinds of sessions to shoot. I had so much fun with Jamie + Logan, and I am thrilled that we are also shooting their wedding at Silver Oaks next year! They are just the sweetest couple - friendly, warm, funny, and a real treat to have in front of the camera.

Ashley + Jimmy | Boo Cat Club Wedding

Last month we had the pleasure of working with the incredibly sweet Ashley + Jimmy. We loved so much about their wedding day! The Boo Cat Club is such a lovely venue, and Ashley + Jimmy chose to keep things really simple by just walking around and taking photos around the venue. This is one of our favorite ways to take wedding party photos and couple’s portraits on a wedding day.
